Last week, I had the privilege of being the closing speaker at the Production Systems Conference in Stuttgart, Germany. It was an inspiring experience, not only to meet open-minded and motivated individuals but also to have the opportunity to take them on a journey into the future.
In my keynote, I emphasized that digital transformation is not a standalone project but an ongoing challenge that companies must face. We are in an era of digitalization where technological advancements will never reach a final stage. As businesses, we must continually embrace digital thinking and process our data and software ourselves. It is crucial that we do not become dependent on large tech companies but instead maintain control over our digital destiny.
In my 45-minute presentation, I spoke about the current major waves of technology: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Longevity. These trends will significantly shape our future. However, to fully harness the benefits of these technologies, we must transition from being spectators to becoming active shapers.
It is time for us to take more risks and occasionally transform our healthy, adult skepticism into a childlike "I'll just do it, I'll give it a try" mentality. By liberating ourselves from traditional mindsets and rigid structures, we can seize the opportunities presented by digital transformation.
The future belongs to those who are willing to lead, take risks, and proactively address the topics of the future. It is time for us not only to observe but to take the driver's seat and determine the direction.
Let's surf the technology waves to avoid being washed away!
Special thanks to the team of Management Circle for organizing this empowering event, and to Thies Ibold for the amazing photos.
